Believe
Our faith journey is a lifelong adventure. Not to find all the answers, but to grow in our trust of God, Christ, and each other—even in the face of the questions that we wrestle with.
We celebrate God’s presence at the communion table and at the baptismal waters. We listen for our still speaking God, we reflect on the biblical scriptures and share the stories of our experience in the world. The congregational tradition of the United Church of Christ does not profess creed of belief and we covenant together in love and courage. We value the scriptures of the Bible, we look to the historic faith of the Christian Church, and we trust that God’s Spirit continues to teach us through the community of the church.
Belong
One of our deepest longings is to belong. We search for a connection with others and yearn to know that we aren’t alone. To be known as we really are, is the heartbeat of relationship with others and it’s the heart of relationship with God. Our sense of belonging is so powerful that it shapes our beliefs, values, and convictions. At FCCE we strive to create a community where everyone is invited to belong. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you can belong here and be who God created you to be.
Become
God places us here to love each other, to lift each other up, and to share the gospel story. We are called to walk with those on the margins and to be salt and light in the world. There are many different ways that can happen, just as there are many different talents and interests and gifts. We value connections created across the generations and we serve others together. We strive to reach, teach and preach in all mission and ministry
As we become disciples in the faith we build up the kingdom of God and proclaim the blessing even as we are blessed.
